Nistiednu lill-pubbliku biex jingħaqad magħna l-Ġimgħa 8 ta’ Marzu għall-marċ il-Belt Valletta fl-okkażjoni tal-Jum Internazzjonali tal-Mara 2024.
Il-Jum Internazzjonali tal-Mara jgħaqqad flimkien lin-nisa kollha li ġġieldu kontra l-inġustizzji u għall-bidla kemm fil-passat riċenti u kemm fl-istorja. Dan il-jum iservi biex niftakru fil-ġlidiet u r-rebħiet tagħhom, filwaqt li nagħrfu dak li għad baqa’ xi jsir biex inkunu nistgħu ngħixu f’soċjetà fejn kulħadd jikkollabora flimkien biex negħlbu l-isterjotipi, il-vjolenza abbażi tal-ġeneru, il-femiċidju, il-kultura tal-istupru, it-tqassim inġust tat-trobbija tat-tfal u tax-xogħol tad-dar, il-privileġġ maskili f’ħafna oqsma tal-ħajja ta’ kuljum, is-sessiżmu u l-lingwaġġ sessist, id-differenzi fil-qligħ, nuqqas ta’ servizzi u drittijiet riproduttivi, u l-lista ma tispiċċa qatt.
Nisa, persuni non-binary u persuni trans madwar id-dinja għadhom iħossu passjoni qawwija għal dan il-jum simboliku, kif ukoll dawk li jappoġġjaw il-ġlieda għal soċjetà ħielsa minn dominanza patrijarkali. Għalhekk din is-sena għażilna t-tema Flimkien għal Liberazzjoni Kollettiva biex insostnu l-ħtieġa li ningħaqdu flimkien għall-bidla. Irridu bidla li teħles lin-nisa mill-oppressjoni u mill-inġustizzja. Bidliet u titjibiet żgħar huma importanti imma l-għan tagħna huwa li ssir bidla ħafna iktar radikali u globali fir-relazzjonijiet u fl-istituzzjonijiet.
Se nkunu qegħdin nimmarċjaw irrabbjati u frustrati, niftakru f’dawk ħutna n-nisa li tlifna f’dawn l-aħħar snin u fil-familji tagħhom li għadhom qegħdin jistennew li ssir ġustizzja. Nemmnu li importanti li nsemmu lil Sion, lil Bernice, lil Paulina u din l-aħħar mara li ġiet maqtula minn min suppost kien iħobbha, Sandra Ramirez.
Ingħaqdu magħna nhar il-Ġimgħa 8 ta’ Marzu fil-5.30 pm fejn il-Funtana tat-Tritoni, il-Furjana fejn se jibda l-marċ ta’ protesta.
Ejjew u ġibu magħkom nisa oħrajn, ħbieb non-binary u oħrajn li jappoġġjawna. Ejjew bil-kartelluni f’idejkom b’messaġġi ta’ rabja, tgħajtu għall-ġustizzja, u toħolmu f’liberazzjoni femminista.

We invite the public to join us on Friday 8th March for a march in Valletta on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2024.
International Women’s Day brings together all the women who have fought in recent and remote history against injustices and for change. This day is about remembering their struggles and achievements, while being aware of what there is still to be done for us to be able live in a society where all people can collaborate together to overcome gender stereotypes, gender-based violence, femicide, rape culture, unfair sharing of parenting and housework, male privilege in many spheres of daily life, sexism and sexist language, wage gaps, inadequate reproductive services and rights, and the list is endless.
Women, non-binary and trans people all around the world still feel deeply passionate about this symbolic day, as well as all allies in the struggle for a society free from patriarchal domination. Hence this year we have chosen the title United for Collective Liberation to underline the need to join forces for change. We are also looking for a change that will liberate women from oppression and injustice. Small amendments and improvements towards justice are essential but our aim is to see a much more radical, global change in relationships and institutions.
We will be marching with anger and frustration, remembering all the sisters we have lost in the past years and their families that are still waiting for justice. We believe it is important to name Sion, Bernice, Paulina and the last woman who was killed by the hands of someone who was supposed to love her, Sandra Ramirez.
Join us on Friday, 8th March at 5.30 pm near the Triton Fountain in Floriana where we will start our protest march.
Come and bring other women, non-binary friends and allies. Come with placards voicing your anger, demanding justice, dreaming of a feminist liberation.
