Italian Liberation Day – Resistance Music and Movie Screening

Join us on Italian Liberation Day to remember the resistance against nazi-fascism and celebrate the spirit of anti-fascism. On April 25th, Italy commemorates the fall of the nazi-fascist regime and the victory of partisan groups that had waged an armed struggle against it.

The victory of anti-fascist freedom fighters became a potent symbol that inspired generations of Italians and beyond.

The event will start at 6pm with drinks and Italian resistance songs.

At 7:30pm, we will screen the movie ‘The Seven Cervi Brothers’ (1968) directed by Gianni Puccini with the assistance of Gianni Amelio (language: Italian with English subtitles). The movie is based on the true story of seven brothers and their family who, in the context of both economic exploitation as well as the Second World War, become anti-fascists and join the partisan movement.

Entrance is free.
