Join us for a screening of ‘Never Rarely Sometimes Always’, followed by drinks and a brief discussion!
The 2020 film follows a 17-year old girl who has to face financial difficulties, deliberate misinformation, shame and loneliness to access an abortion. Directed by Eliza Hittman, it takes place in Pennsylvania, a US state with certain abortion restrictions that come to light in this film.
This parallels the real-life situation of the hundreds of women in Malta who access abortions each year, and the many barriers standing in the way of this essential service.
After the screening, we will have a brief discussion on the film and abortion in the local context, followed by some drinks and nibbles.
Entrance is free, and you are welcome to bring your own snacks or purchase drinks from the bar!
See you there!
