Wednesday the 17th of May is the international day against homophobia, transphobia and biphobia – IDAHOBIT. This is the day when we celebrate gender and sexual diversity. It is also the day when we remember that although in an increasing number of countries, the LGBTIQ+ community is enjoying more rights, millions in different parts of the world, still experience discrimination, stigma, violence and abuse, imprisonment, and even death.
On this day we are meeting at Maori, Triq il-Lanċa, Valletta to raise awareness about these issues as well as to have some fun. There will be quizzes, games, music and dance in a safe space from 6.30 pm onwards.
